Are you looking for an opportunity to excel?
Do you want to gain valuable practical experience in the field of construction?
Are you interested in getting a head start on meeting your career goals?
If the answer is yes, consider becoming a part of TEAM EMJ through
our Cooperative Education Program. As a member of our team you will
be given an opportunity to
experience construction as it happens, while continuing your college education.
We employ students in full time positions to work in both the office and
the field. Our program is designed to provide the student with increasing
job responsibilities
that coincide with their academic successes.
Your first assignment will be in one of our four offices working
closely with Project Managers and Estimators. Assisting them in the
many tasks that
take place
on a daily basis. These tasks may include expediting the subcontracts and
submittals, helping to resolve billings and payment issues on past and
current projects,
soliciting bids from suppliers and subcontractors, or preparing warranty
manuals. You will also be given the opportunity to visit ongoing projects,
and see first
hand what up to now you have only experienced in the confines of the classroom.
Later assignments could be at one of our many jobsites located
throughout the United States. There, you can be a part of a team
that builds malls,
power shopping
centers, office buildings, warehouses or educational facilities. You
will work directly for the Project Superintendent assisting him in
maintaining
quality
control and safety on the job. You could also be involved in expediting
materials to the project or supervising a crew of laborers. All of which
is designed
to give the student hands on experience they cannot get in a classroom.
Currently, EMJ is working with the Cooperative Education Departments
at Auburn University, The University of Tennessee, Texas Tech University
and
Texas
A&M
in searching for motivated students who wish to supplement their education
with real life experiences. However, we are always looking to expand our collegiate
affiliations.
