Overview
The Coppell Aquatic & Recreation Center, also known as THE CORE, is a project in Coppell, Texas. EMJ received this project under the Construction Manager at Risk contracting method. Decision phase services include budgeting, scheduling, and constructability and logistics planning for the construction of a new 12,000 square-foot addition and remodeling of the existing facility including the natatorium and exterior pool area. The remodeling of the lobby, offices, and classrooms update them to match the new construction. The new addition provides a new weight room and state-of-the-art aerobics facility. The natatorium improvements include a new indoor slide, pool lighting, new coping/decking, a toddler pool play feature, and mechanical upgrades to dehumidification and pump systems. Exterior pool renovations involve adding a water slide, installing a new play feature at the children’s pool, re-surfacing of the pool and deck, and adding new fencing and an admissions booth.
