Sr. Site Quality Manager

Reports to: Director of Quality

Direct Reports: Site Quality Managers

Supervises: Site Quality Superintendents, Quality Inspectors, Quality Contract Labor

Works closely with: Senior Project Managers, Senior Safety Managers, Senior Construction Managers, Corporate Safety, Pre-Construction, Procurement, Self-Perform Operations, Directors of Continuous Improvement, Commissioning Managers.

Supports: Project Managers, Project Engineers, Site Safety Managers, Site Construction Managers, QA/QC Inspectors, Owners, Pre-Construction, Engineers.

Responsibilities/ Duties:

  • The Senior Quality Manager has oversight responsibility for team management and contract performance across a portfolio of projects.
  • Acts as a driver of company culture, Core Principles and is an advocate for Signal Energy, LLC, by promoting all company policies and procedures and promoting a positive attitude towards the goals of each project. Must represent Signal Energy professionally with clients, subcontractors, and others at all times.
  • Participate on interview teams, support hiring, training and mentoring of new team members to assure that they align with company culture and understand the Signal values.
  • Mentor Quality Managers to foster their leadership and team development.
  • Support Quality Managers to achieve excellence through risk identification and removal, continuous improvement and refinement.
  • Assure Quality Managers are informed of overall construction and QA activity, progress & performance along with monitoring and review of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Teach field personnel to recognize, analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Review project quality requirements, anticipate issues and address proactively.
  • Participate in the organization, scheduling, and implementation/coordination of work at project sites.
  • Support Director of Quality in strategic efforts to include standardization of policy, process and training, Operating System Improvement, Consistent Reporting and workforce planning,
  • Assist Pre-Sales and Pre-Construction teams when called upon.
  • Support site teams in the implementation of LEAN Construction processes and procedures.
  • Develop ongoing coaching and training opportunities for team; facilitate team-building activities; drive employee morale; ensure compliance with key field expectations; be visible.
  • Assist Construction Manager in preparing for site visits, owner and client meetings.
  • Ensure performance of Quality personnel meets Client needs and expectations.
  • Support Project Management team to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, scope, code, and schedule.
  • Align QA procedures with construction teams to promote efficient sequencing and support production.
  • Advocate for site safety programs.
  • Take care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure, modification or destruction.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Strong focus on servant leadership, including personnel development

  • Working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship.
  • Knowledge of technical, administration, and management of all phases of project activities.
  • Knowledge of public and construction safety and security issues and regulations.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, including application, and use in problem solving.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and apply IFC drawings and job specifications for civil, structural, and electrical work.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate own and others’ actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources.
  • Sensitivity to problems; ability to tell or predict when something is wrong; able to revise and adapt as necessary.
  • Strong coordination, time management, active listening, oral and written communication skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • External/Internal proven auditing experience and working knowledge of ISO Quality standards preferred
  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and independently.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency using Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Procore & BOX.

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or related area or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years construction QA/QC experience on large commercial/multi-disciplined/industrial, utility, civil, highway/road, high voltage electrical solar or wind energy projects.

Certificates/ Licenses: OSHA 30 Hour Minimum First Aid/CPR, SWPPP Training
