EMJ Construction Boston serves the needs of clients throughout the northeastern United States and beyond.

Established in 1987, the Boston team maintains a diverse portfolio of construction projects ranging from large retail developments and educational facilities to office complexes and multi-unit housing. Each member of Boston’s leadership team offers more than 20 years of industry experience and uses this knowledge to lead the team in delivering an exceptional client experience on every project.

Built on a culture of servant leadership, the Boston team aims to deliver unique value by providing a customized construction approach based on each client’s goals and vision for their construction project.

Executive Vice President

Neil Pratt

Executive Vice President

Neil Pratt

Neil Pratt’s lifelong mission has been to help others reach their goals, and as Executive Vice President of EMJ’s Boston office, he takes steps toward this daily.

Neil has nearly 15 years of experience in construction and has been with EMJ Corporation since 2003. In 2015, Neil assumed the leadership role of EMJ’s Boston office, having previously led Accent Construction Services in Chattanooga. With his move to Boston, Neil hopes to “deepen roots” in the New England area and grow the Boston office’s client base.

Neil’s favorite part about working at EMJ is its entrepreneurial culture and the opportunities that are given to employees. He appreciates the collaborative spirit of EMJ and the team’s desire to “go the extra mile” for both clients and colleagues.

In Neil’s spare time, he is involved with First Thing’s First, an organization dedicated to strengthening families, where he serves as a board member. He frequently attends industry-related learning events, including those of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), to continue to grow in his profession. A graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, he lives in Boston with his wife and their two children.

Ketan Joshi

Vice President of Preconstruction

Ketan Joshi

Ketan provides leadership in all areas of the Boston office’s preconstruction efforts, including budgeting, bidding and buyout of projects. With more than 24 years of construction, architectural and development experience, his day-to-day leadership propels his team toward success and strengthens the company’s relationships with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors.

Ketan earned a Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Science in Construction Management at Virginia Polytechnic Institute before beginning his construction career as a project engineer. He has worked extensively in a variety of sectors, including mixed use, hospitality, senior living, student housing and multi-family housing.

He is actively involved in Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) New England as a certified LEED professional.

Ketan lives in Ashland, Mass., with his family. He speaks four languages, and in his spare time, he enjoys golfing, traveling and spending time with his family.

Steve Rice

As Vice President of Construction, Steve plans, organizes and directs EMJ’s Boston construction operations. He provides day-to-day leadership and management to the construction teams, including project oversight, administration, coordination, staff management and development and more.

With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Steve joined EMJ in 2016. His extensive experience and commitment to servant leadership and mentoring make him a solid leader and valuable member of EMJ as a whole.

Steve is a graduate of Thames Valley State Technical College and the University of Connecticut. When not at EMJ, he serves his community as an adjunct Construction Management professor at Three Rivers Community College, instilling his passion for construction into local college students. He also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and visiting the Rhode Island shore.

Vice President of Northeast Business Development

Ed Dann

Based in EMJ’s Boston office, Ed develops opportunities to drive growth and identify new markets for diversification in the northeastern United States. He leads the business development team in building new relationships with regional clients and spreading awareness of EMJ’s brand and unique construction approach.

Ed joined EMJ in 2017 and has more than 30 years of sales and sales management experience for large private commercial construction firms. Ed has been active for more than 26 years in the North River Community Church in Pembroke, Mass., for which he served as head of the Board of Overseers and is active on its drama team. He is also a member of the Boston Irish Business Association.

In his free time, Ed enjoys spending time with his family at the beach, hiking and camping.

Dave Henderson

Based in EMJ’s Boston office, Dave serves as an advocate to clients by ensuring that their voice is heard and their needs are met. His responsibilities include capturing client needs, solving problems with strategic and creative solutions, and facilitating value generation.

Dave has more than 25 years of experience as a construction executive including executive-level operations, regional management and multi-project executive experience in the northeast.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass., and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn.

Dave enjoys skiing, fishing, and spending time at the beach with family and friends.
