Women in Construction Week: Kathryn Mueller

A Rising Star

Kathryn Mueller is a standout Project Engineer at EMJ Construction’s Dallas office.  As a Project Engineer, some of her many responsibilities include managing submittals, RFIs and any and all items related to document and cost control.

According to George Heath, VP of Construction at EMJ’s Dallas office, “Kathryn has done an exceptional job managing one of our largest clients. Encompassing a $50M annual program, she played a key role in its success, which earned her and the team a ‘Project of the Year’ award in 2020.”

Kathryn honed her interest and passion for construction in college while attending Eastern Michigan University.  As a Construction Management major and a member of the Eastern Constructors student group, she was awarded a year-long internship with a commercial general contractor that allowed her to solidify a full-time position upon graduation and gain valuable hands-on experience. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and a minor in Business.

While still early in her career, Kathryn already has a wide-range of experience relating to the construction industry. In her previous job, she spent time in both estimating and project management.

Upon joining EMJ in 2019, Kathryn spent a year working in the field alongside superintendents and learning the day-to-day jobsite responsibilities. She is now able to apply and utilize her well-rounded experiences to excel in her current role as a project engineer and set her sights high on the path to project management.

Aligned with EMJ’s mission, Kathryn seeks to deliver an exceptional experience and steward well the construction projects she is involved in.
