DSV Breaks Ground on Massive Multi-use Warehouse and Office Building

On December 7, DSV Global Transport and Logistics (DSV) broke ground on a one million-square-foot warehouse and three-story, 48,000-square-foot high-end office building in Lancaster, Texas.

EMJ Construction is serving as the general contractor and will complete the project alongside O’Brien Architects. Members from each company were present to commemorate the groundbreaking, as well as representatives from the City of Lancaster, including Mayor Hairston who spoke briefly.

The mayor of the city of Lancaster, Mayor Hairston, says a few words at the DSV groundbreaking.

“I’d like to officially welcome DSV Logistics to our great city. The city of Lancaster will gain much from this partnership as DSV invests $72 million into this new facility and $8 million into business and personal property,” said Mayor Hairston. “We are excited that DSV continues the ongoing motion of large companies choosing to locate here in our hometown.”

This project is monumental for both DSV and the city of Lancaster. Providing over 450 job opportunities for local citizens, this site also marks the first location in the United States in which all three DSV divisions will be represented: Air & Sea, Road and Solutions.

Mike Marlow, President of North America Solutions at DSV says a few words at the groundbreaking.

“DSV’s culture is to be involved in the community, way beyond bringing jobs here, and we look forward to working alongside you all,” said Mike Marlow, President of North America Solutions at DSV. “When this facility opens, it will be the largest facility run by DSV in the United States. We are very proud of that and looking forward to being here in Lancaster.”

DSV began in 1976 with 10 hauliers and is now a global company, present in over 90 countries and employing over 55,000 people around the world. Out of its over 80 strategically located offices in the United States, this building in Lancaster, Texas will be the largest and represent one million of the 60 million total square feet that DSV builds annually.

“EMJ is excited to bring our strong industrial and logistics experience to a project of this magnitude,” says William Mosher, EVP of EMJ Construction, Dallas. “We are looking forward to serving a world class client like DSV in the great city of Lancaster, Texas.”
