Lidl grocery stores in Virginia and North Carolina open

Lidl - Morehead City, NC - Grand Opening

Two Lidl grocery stores built by EMJ opened Thursday in Morehead City, N.C., and Danville, Va. EMJ completed a Lidl in Winston-Salem, N.C., earlier this year and has two additional stores under construction for the grocer.
The international grocery retailer with more than 10,000 locations across Europe, now has 28 stores in the U.S. with plans to open at least 80 locations up and down the East Coast by 2018.
Lidl stores offer more than 36,000 square feet of retail space and invite customers to enjoy local food without compromising on budget. The company has announced plans to offer 20 percent lower prices than other U.S.-based stores.

“I’m proud of our team’s hard work to deliver these projects efficiently and to the highest quality,” said Clint Dean, Executive Vice President of EMJ’s Chattanooga office. “We are excited to be a part of Lidl’s U.S. expansion and look forward to additional store openings later this year.”
