OVERVIEW

This Fine Arts Center renovation for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) is one of two projects that the EMJ team served as the general contractor on concurrently.

This 85,398-square-foot project included gutting the whole building, an addition, and demolishing a portion in the rear.

The addition consisted of block and plank structure with a brick/precast facade. The interior finishes are primarily ACT Ceilings, painted walls, and a variety of floor coverings.

With the building being on campus at UTC, coordinating, scaffolding, and finishing both auditoriums took strategic planning and execution from the EMJ project team. Most of the electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning was replaced or repaired in the and the theaters now have new, state-of-the-art projectors and huge projection screens. The building’s lobby was was also redesigned and updated with new furniture, lighting, signage and flooring.
