Publix opens at Chattanooga’s Village at Waterside

Last week, EMJ Construction in Chattanooga celebrated the opening of Publix, a 45,600-square-foot grocery store at The Village at Waterside.
The store includes a bakery, wine department, a full-service meat and seafood department and a cooking demonstration station for Apron Simple meals.
In addition to Publix, EMJ’s team is constructing The Village at Waterside’s 120,000-square-foot retail space, which will be home to Burlington Coat Factory and REI, as well as additional tenants. EMJ is also performing the development’s site work, including grading, utilities, drainage, lighting, traffic signalization, paving, modular retaining walls, fencing, and more.
The development is expected to open later this year.

“Publix’s commitment to provide top-notch service and a unique experience for customers aligns well with EMJ’s foundation: to serve and to deliver unique value,” said Jack Bowen, Executive Vice President of EMJ Chattanooga. “We are proud of this project and know it will serve our community well.”
